    Intentional Acts of Kindness

    Neighbors helping neighbors

Giving a little of what we're good at.

An Intentional Act of Kindness is a member giving a neighbor a little of what their business or they do best: a plumber fixing something for an elderly neighbor, a tutor opening homework help hours. Neighbors nominate someone who could use a boost, and each act goes to the nomination it fits best.

These acts of kindness are exclusively for Lawson residents.

    • Gathering the acts of kindness…

    How it works

    It starts with a nomination.

Each step feeds the next, and the loop ends where every neighbor business wants to be: word of mouth.

    1. 1

      Neighbors nominate

Someone who deserves a boost, through a short form on this site. It can be you.

    2. 2

      A raffle

Keeps everyone who took part involved. Winners are announced publicly.

    3. 3

      A member gives

An act built on their real expertise, matched to the nomination it fits best.

    4. 4

      We share the story

Here, in the neighborhood Facebook group, and tagged to the business that gave.

    5. 5

      A review, if they like

Happy neighbors can leave one with a single link.

    6. 6

      Word of mouth

Stories and reviews become recommendations, and Lawson keeps hiring Lawson.

    What will you give?

Give a little of what you're good at.

Made in Lawson is an initiative of the Lawson Business Network Group: neighbors who run businesses and want Lawson to hire and refer each other.

    • 1Choose one thing you're good at, and use it to make a neighbor's life a little better, at least three times a year.
    • 2Get found in the directory, and get your turn in a business story.
    • 3Meet the group: Friday 16 October, 9:00 to 10:00 am, at the Mill House.

The group reviews every application before a business appears in the directory.
